Microsoft has announced that Copilot, their AI digital assistant, will now be accessible to more enterprise and business customers of 365. This was done by Microsoft removing the minimum requirement of 300 enterprise licences.
What is Copilot for Microsoft 365?
Copilot for Microsoft 365 is a paid-addon which integrates the AI assistant into the 365 ecosystem of apps. Applications within 365 benefits from integrating with Copilot in their own intelligent way. For example, Copilot enhances Microsoft Word by enabling users to create initial drafts, revise documents, and produce summaries. Microsoft Excel also benefits from Copilot by helping you better understand the information in your spreadsheet as well as helping you explore & visualise your data.

In short, ChatGPT is an AI chatbot that uses natural language processing to provide outputs in a humanlike way. ChatGPT is trained using large language models which include data from the internet, books, and new articles. ChatGPT was created by OpenAI, an artificial intelligence research organisation.

What does this mean for Microsoft 365 customers?
Copilot for Microsoft 365 can now be purchased as an addon for enterprise customers with E3 or E5 licences and to business customers with Business Standard or Business Premium Microsoft 365 licences.
